Versano AI, Inc. — Website and Mobile Application

Effective date: July 1st, 2026

Last updated: July 29th, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Versano AI, Inc. ("Versano," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use our website at www.versano.ai (the "Site"), our mobile and web applications (the "App"), and our related products and services, including our AI-powered project management and estimating tools for residential construction and remodeling (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

This Policy does not apply to information practices of third parties we do not control, including contractors, homeowners, suppliers, or other users you interact with through the Services, or third-party websites and services linked from the Services.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information: name, email address, phone number, password, company name, role (e.g., homeowner or contractor), and, for Professional Users, business details such as license numbers and trade specialties.
  • Project information: property address and project location, project descriptions, plans, drawings, specifications, measurements, budgets, schedules, photos and videos of the property, punch lists, and related documents.
  • Communications: messages, comments, and files you exchange with other project participants or with our support team, and any inputs or prompts you submit to AI-assisted features.
  • Payment information: if you make purchases, our payment processors collect your payment card or bank details. We receive limited information such as payment confirmation and the last four digits of your card; we do not store full card numbers.
  • Survey and marketing information: responses to surveys, promotions, or feedback requests, and your marketing preferences.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device and usage data: IP address, device type and identifiers, operating system, browser type, app version, pages and features used, links clicked, referring pages, and dates and times of access.
  • Approximate location: inferred from your IP address, and, if you grant permission in the App, precise location from your device (which you can disable in your device settings).
  • Cookies and similar technologies: we and our service providers use cookies, pixels, SDKs, and local storage to operate the Services, remember your preferences, analyze usage, and measure marketing. See Section 6 (Cookies and Analytics).

1.3 Information from Other Sources

We may receive information about you from other users (for example, when a contractor or homeowner invites you to a project or uploads content that includes you or your property), from business partners and integrations you connect, from suppliers or pricing data providers, and from publicly available sources such as licensing databases.

2. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

  • provide, operate, and maintain the Services, including creating and managing accounts and projects, enabling collaboration among project participants, and processing transactions;
  • generate estimates, schedules, summaries, and other outputs, including through AI models that process the inputs and project information you provide;
  • improve and develop the Services, including troubleshooting, testing, research, and analytics;
  • communicate with you about the Services, including transactional messages, updates, security alerts, and support responses;
  • send marketing communications where permitted by law, which you can opt out of at any time;
  • personalize your experience and provide content and features relevant to your projects;
  • protect the security and integrity of the Services, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Use;
  • comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from public authorities.

2.1 AI Features and Model Training

Some features of the Services use artificial intelligence, including AI models operated by third-party providers, to process the inputs and project information you provide and generate outputs for you (such as estimates, schedules, and summaries). We apply the following practices to that processing:

  • We do not train AI models on your data. We do not use your personal information or your User Content — including your project details, plans, photos, documents, and messages — to train, fine-tune, or otherwise develop or improve any AI model, whether ours or a third party's, without your express opt-in consent.
  • Vendor restrictions. Our AI service providers are contractually permitted to process your data only to provide the requested service to us. They are prohibited from using your data to train or improve their models, and their retention of your data is limited to what is necessary to deliver the service and to protect against fraud, abuse, and security threats.
  • Limited human review. Your AI inputs and outputs are not reviewed by humans except to provide support you request, to investigate suspected fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Use, or as required by law.
  • De-identified usage data. We may use aggregated or de-identified usage information — which cannot reasonably be linked to you — to operate, secure, and improve the Services. We maintain such data in de-identified form and do not attempt to re-identify it, except as permitted by law to test our de-identification processes.
  • Your choices. If we ever offer an option to contribute data to model improvement, it will be strictly opt-in, you may withdraw consent at any time, and declining will not affect your access to the Services.

3. How We Disclose Information

We disclose personal information in the following circumstances:

  • Other project participants: the Services are collaborative. Content and information you add to a project — including your name, role, messages, photos, schedules, and documents — may be visible to other participants in that project according to the Services' sharing and permission settings.
  • Service providers: vendors that perform services on our behalf, such as cloud hosting, AI model providers, payment processing, analytics, communications, and customer support, under contracts that limit their use of your information.
  • Business partners and integrations: when you choose to connect third-party services or participate in partner offerings, we share information as needed to provide the integration or offering.
  • Corporate transactions: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of our business, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to reasonable confidentiality protections.
  • Legal and safety: to comply with law, subpoenas, or legal process; to enforce our Terms; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Versano, our users, or others.
  • With your consent or at your direction.

We do not sell your personal information for money. However, like many consumer apps, we use third-party analytics and advertising cookies and similar technologies (see Section 6), which involve disclosing identifiers and internet activity data to analytics and advertising partners. Under some state privacy laws, this may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information or processing for "targeted advertising." You can opt out as described in Sections 6 and 7. We do not sell or share the contents of your projects — such as photos, plans, budgets, or messages — for advertising purposes.

4. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations (including tax, accounting, and record-keeping requirements), resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary based on the type of information and the purposes for which it is used. Project records may be retained after project completion so participants can access their history. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it. Copies may persist in routine backups for a limited period before being overwritten.

5. Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, such as encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for the security of the devices you use to access the Services. Please notify us at support@versano.ai if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

6. Cookies and Analytics

We and our service providers use the following categories of cookies and similar technologies (including pixels, SDKs, and local storage):

  • Essential cookies, which are required to operate the Services, such as authentication, session management, security, and fraud prevention. These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics and performance cookies, which help us understand how the Services are used — such as which features are visited, how users navigate, and where errors occur — so we can improve them.
  • Advertising cookies, which are set by us and our advertising partners to measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns and to reach people who may be interested in the Services on other websites and platforms, including through interest-based (targeted) advertising.
  • Preference cookies, which remember your settings and choices.

You can manage non-essential cookies and interest-based advertising through the following methods: your browser settings (which allow you to block or delete cookies); your mobile device settings (which allow you to limit ad tracking or reset your advertising identifier); industry opt-out tools such as those offered by the Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info) and the Network Advertising Initiative (optout.networkadvertising.org); and opt-out tools offered by individual providers, such as the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. You may also contact us at support@versano.aito request an opt-out from targeted advertising, and we will apply it to the extent we are reasonably able. Blocking some cookies may affect the functionality of the Services. Our systems do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals or other opt-out preference signals, such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC).

7. Your Privacy Rights

7.1 Rights Available to You

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights with respect to your personal information, subject to legal limits and verification of your identity:

  • Access / Know: confirm whether we process your personal information and obtain a copy of it.
  • Correction: correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Deletion: request deletion of your personal information.
  • Portability: obtain a copy of personal information you provided in a portable format.
  • Opt out: opt out of the sale of personal information, the sharing/processing of personal information for targeted advertising, and certain profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
  • Non-discrimination: we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

7.2 How to Exercise Your Rights

You may exercise these rights by emailing support@versano.ai or through your account settings, where available. We will verify your request using information associated with your account, and we may ask for additional information where necessary. Where permitted by law, an authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with proof of authorization. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision or emailing support@versano.aiwith "Privacy Appeal" in the subject line; residents of certain states (including New Jersey) may also contact their state Attorney General if an appeal is denied.

7.3 State-Specific Disclosures

Residents of certain U.S. states — including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, Oregon, Texas, Virginia, and others with comprehensive privacy laws — have the rights described above under their respective laws. For California residents: the categories of personal information we collect are described in Section 1 (identifiers; customer records; commercial information; internet/network activity; geolocation; audio/visual information such as project photos; professional information; and inferences), collected for the purposes in Section 2 and disclosed to the categories of recipients in Section 3. We retain each category as described in Section 4. We "share" identifiers and internet or network activity information with advertising partners for cross-context behavioral advertising, as described in Sections 3 and 6; you may opt out using the tools described in Section 6 or by emailing support@versano.ai. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes requiring a "limit use" right under California law.

7.4 Users Outside the United States

The Services are operated from the United States and are intended for users in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where privacy laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction.

8. Children's Privacy

The Services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 (or under 13 for purposes of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act). If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at support@versano.ai and we will delete it.

9. Photos, Recordings, and Other People's Information

Project content you upload — such as photos or videos of a property — may include images of people or information about others (for example, household members, workers on site, or neighbors). You are responsible for obtaining any consents required by law before uploading content that includes other people or their personal information, and for using information you access through the Services (such as another user's contact details) only in connection with the relevant project and in compliance with law.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email, in-app notice, or by posting the updated Policy with a new "Last Updated" date before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acknowledgment of the updated Policy.
